Cape Town has been on my bucket list for almost as long as I can remember. And one of the places I most wanted to visit was Long Street, the vibrant artery of the city with its bars, restaurants and old Victorian buildings.
I wasn’t disappointed. The buildings, which were once grand and then fell into disrepair, have now been restored to their former glory with wrought iron balconies and colourful facades. We drank in the bars and looked in the windows of antique shops. We caught sight of the Table Mountain down every side street and walked down to Greenmarket Square where a lively market was selling all manner of local crafts. And, best of all, I found a book shop where I spent a happy half hour browsing (and, of course, buying).Tagged with: architecture
