About WorldWideWriter

WorldWideWriter is owned and managed by Karen Warren.

I have been writing and travelling for many years (almost 70 countries at the last count). I’ve visited every continent except Antarctica (I still hope to get there one day…), and my favourite destinations are Italy, Spain, North America and the Middle East. This website is my attempt to inform and inspire other travellers, and to share some of the things I’ve discovered along the way.

My interests are wide-ranging, but I have a particular focus upon history (the older the better), art and architecture, countryside and food. And I’ve recently been dabbling in wine tourism… I try to concentrate on lesser known sights and destinations, or on different aspects of well known places. If I come across anything quirky, or off the beaten track, then I like to write about it. I pride myself on being able to find something of interest wherever I go – I’m always willing to accept a challenge to promote an overlooked destination!

I also write for other publications, and have been featured in Travel Awaits and BucketTripper

I am always happy to consider working with brands or tourist boards – contact me at [email protected] for more information. If you are interested in guest posts or sponsored posts please read my guidelines before getting in touch.

I also write fiction and my first novel – Shadow of the Dome – is available from Amazon. This is a historical novel based on the true story of a voyage from China to Persia by the legendary explorer Marco Polo in the 13th century. I have an author blog (Karen Warren Author) and I am a book reviews editor for the Historical Novel Society.

Destinations and brands I have worked with include:

LivItaly – small group tours in Italy

BiteMojo – self guided food tours

Visit Rochester – FAM trip to Rochester, NY, September 2018

Visit East Bohemia – FAM trip to East Bohemia, Czech Republic, July 2018

Jerusalem CVB – FAM trip to Greater Jerusalem Area, March 2017
