I have been writing and travelling for many years (over 50 countries at the last count). I’ve visited every continent except Antarctica (I still hope to get there one day…), and my current favourite destinations are Italy, Spain and the Middle East. This blog is my attempt to inform and inspire other travellers, and to share some of the things I’ve discovered along the way.
My interests are wide-ranging, but I have a particular focus upon history (the older the better), art and architecture, countryside and food. I try to concentrate on lesser known signts and destinations, or on different aspects of well known places. If I come across anything quirky, or off the beaten track, then I like to write about it. And I pride myself on being able to find something of interest wherever I go – I visited Abu Dhabi five times and never ran out of things to see or do!
Apart from the blog I write fiction: my first novel is currently with a publisher (watch this spot for more details) and I am working on the second. I am also a book reviews editor for the Historical Novel Society.
I am always happy to consider working with brands or tourist boards. You can contact me at [email protected] for more information.
