An unexpected treat when we visited Lucca in Tuscany was the sculptures scattered around the town. Celebrating the 500th anniversary of the building of Lucca’s town walls, the sculptures are the creations of the celebrated contemporary Italian sculptor Rabarama. Her works feature giant human figures contorted into seemingly impossible positions, and with their skin covered in geometric patterns. The sculptures will remain on show in Lucca until 14 March 2014.
